Yin Yoga Accredited Teacher Training   â€‹â€‹

Yin is an introspective practice that through physical forms and formlessness of breath, energy and mind states, deepens our interconnected awareness of body, mind and spirit.

Overview​

This Level I Yin Yoga Teacher Training will focus on the ‘how to’ of Yin and explore the origins and intentions of this practice.  The course will give teachers and interested yogis the confidence and competence to safely and knowledgeably guide and explore the intentions and benefits of this transformative practice.

 

Your workshop will be led by Josephine Tanham.  Josie is a Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia with over 30-years experience and 1800 hours of development and training.  Her original Yin Teacher Training was with Paul Grilley, who developed and introduced Yin to the global yoga community.  Josie has since completed further Yin Yoga Insight Teacher Training levels I & II with the internationally acclaimed teacher, Sarah Powers and undertaken further training with renowned Yin teacher, Bernie Clark.  She is also a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher through the Jon Kabat Zin endorsed, Australasian Mindfulness Institute.

Guiding Principals

Forms & Function – Anatomy, Shapes and options for Human Variation

Fascia & Vagus Nerve Reset​

And, an Introduction to Insight Practices:

Yin and Meridian Theory

Energy Body Attention & Intention

Enhancing Yin Yoga through Mindfulness

Course Delivery, Certification and Assessment

This workshop is open to yoga teachers and students with a curiosity to learn more about Yin.   Teachers seeking the 14 CPD points will need to attend all sessions; and practically demonstrate your understanding during the course.

The workshop will be held at Open House Studio in Bayswater

Saturday April 18 & Sunday April 19, 2026 

10.30 to 5.30pm each day
