Nervous System Regulation

This workshop will look at understanding regulation of the nervous system through the lens of Yoga, Mindfulness and therapeutic practices. Exploring the ways to both awaken and anchor our sensory awareness, learn practices to help heal unresolved stress responses and nurture stability in times of stress.

What we will explore

Nervous System States and Tools for Support and Regulation

How through the body we can replenish reserves in the everyday and call on these reserves in times of stress

Encourage and move between states to support us when we need to be alert and awake, or find softness when we need to seek rest

Explore Poly Vagal Theory and Vagus Nerve Regulation and practices to help us find ease
Therapeutic and Trauma Informed Practices – Drawing on neuroplasticity and somatic psychological research to foster and reclaim a sense of freedom and ease in the body.

Strengthening Embodiment - Tuning into our bodies’ responses to the rhythms and challenges of life with intuition and perspective to consolidate ways to better meet the ups & downs of the every day.
​
Practices will include conscious breathing techniques, somatic movement, intuitive listening, and mindfulness meditation.

Who is this Workshop for?

Teachers and curious yogis who want to better understand the cognitive, physiological and emotional responses to the pressures, stresses and challenges of life, and how to meet these challenges with intuitive awareness and self-directed therapeutic practices to reduce anxiety and better manage stress responses.
